“What’s the meaning behind it?”
“I got it in honour of my grand father who passed away. He was Buddhist.”

“You know, just cause people don’t understand me sometimes doesn’t mean I’m not an artist.”

“I have a tattoo on my back that says ‘Aroha’. It’s a reminder to carry love with me always.”

“What language are you speaking?”
“Swedish.”
“You look like Avicii.”
“Tim Berg? Yeah I get that a lot, everybody says that.”

“We just came from a conference for the United Nations.”

“We bought this crappy car and drove it around the North Island, so now we’re broke and poor.”
“That’s a depressing story, tell me something else.”

“So you’re the artist?”
“That’s me”
“Nice, can I take your picture with your art work behind you?”
“Make sure you get the T-shirt.”

“I’m a contemporary dancer.”
“Wow could you dance for me so I can take your picture?”
“Of course.”
“Are you alright with dancing in those shoes?”
“Yeah, I dance in heels all the time.”

“What was going through your head when you got dressed this morning?”
“It was my first day at work today and I just thought ‘oh shit it’s Auckland Grammar, I’ve gotta look more formal.’ I wanted to make a good first impression, was real nervous on the way there but then it turned out alright.”
“Oh cool so it was your first day working at Auckland Grammar?”
“Yeah man, you know what, one of the kids walks pass me today and says .. 'smooth guy.’ That was awesome.”

“You boys know any of these people in the painting?”
“I just know that one fella, Matutaera Tawhiao.”
“Who is he?”
“He was the second Maori King.”

“Where are you going today sir?”
“I’m off to see my mum. Gotta give her some money. I’m poor off but I gotta look after her. She’s seventy-six years old.”

“I thought about maybe starting a humans of Queen Street, but then I’m not much of a writer.”
“How long have you been a Photographer for?”
“I started about 17 years ago. I’ve been in New Zealand now for 6 years and recently I decided to really pursue photography so I’m in school for it, this is for my course. But when I started it was kind of a .. hobby, now it is an artistic passion I follow. - Celine, France.
